How much does snow removal cost in Saint John?

It depends on the size of the driveway and whether you take the season or pay per clear. Grovec Property Services agrees one season price in writing before winter, 1 December to 31 March, every clear at 10 cm included. Plus HST.

When does it get cleared?

Once 10 cm has fallen. You do not need to phone us — a season contract means we come because it snowed, not because you asked. If a storm keeps going past 25 cm we come back a second time, at half the per-clear rate.

Does the price change if it is a bad winter?

Not for ordinary snow. Every clear at 10 cm is in the season price, however many storms there are. The one extra is a second clear in the same storm once it passes 25 cm, at half the per-clear rate.

What about the ridge the plow leaves at the end of the driveway?

It is included. It is the heaviest, most compacted snow of the whole storm and it turns up after you have already shovelled, so leaving it out of the price would be leaving out the worst part of the job.

Can I just pay per storm instead?

Yes. Per-clear suits people who travel or only want help with the big storms. The season price works out cheaper across an average winter, which is why it exists, and the quote shows both.

When do I need to book by?

Before the snow comes. We take a limited number of driveways for the season so that every one of them actually gets done on the morning of a storm, and once that number is reached we stop taking them.
