Design a house with AI
Describe the building you want — “a 24×30 detached garage with a 9-ft door and a loft” — and Grovec frames it, checks it against building code, prices the materials, and generates a permit-ready package.
Real framing, not a pretty render
Grovec builds the actual structure: studs, joists, rafters, headers and hardware — sized from real span tables (IRC R502 / R802 / R602) and a Simpson hardware catalog. It’s a Revit-class model, generated from a description.
Because the framing is real, the bill of materials is real — a part-by-part lumber and hardware list you can take to a yard, not an estimate.
Code-checked before you submit
Joist and rafter spans, header sizing and wall assemblies are checked automatically. If a span is over-stressed, Grovec flags it and won’t let a non-compliant design through the permit gate — so you find the problem at the keyboard, not at the inspection.
Frost-aware foundations, multi-story, dormers and basements are all supported.
Permit-ready export
Generate span-checked framing plans and permit documents, and export the model to Revit, IFC and AutoCAD to hand to an architect, engineer or your local building department.
FAQ
Can it design a garage or a deck, not just a house?
Yes — garages, decks, additions, and full houses. Describe the size and features and Grovec frames it to code.
Are the plans actually permit-ready?
Grovec generates span-checked framing and permit documents and blocks submission on code errors. A licensed professional should still review and stamp drawings as your jurisdiction requires.
Does it give me a materials list?
Yes — a live, part-by-part bill of materials (lumber and hardware) that updates as the design changes.
What can I export?
Revit, IFC, AutoCAD/DXF and more, plus permit-package documents.
